Newark Academy Minutemen (Livingston, NJ) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Bloomfield Bengals (Bloomfield, NJ), 46-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Newark Academy upgrades its record to 17-4 on the season. The Minutemen travel to University (Newark, NJ) to play the Phoenix in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 9. The Phoenix go into the bout with a record of 16-6. University won 62-56 in their recent non-league bout against Columbia (Maplewood, NJ)

Next up, the Bengals play the Clifton Mustangs (Clifton, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 15. Bloomfield will attempt to upgrade on its 6-10 season record.
