Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Verona Hillbillies (Verona, NJ) and the host East Side Red Raiders (Newark, NJ), saw Verona's basketball squad hold off East Side by a count of 43-36.

With the victory, Verona upgrades its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Hillbillies travel to Morris County Tech (Denville, NJ) to play the Devils in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 10. The Devils come into the challenge with a record of 16-3. Morris County Tech won 49-36 in their recent non-league challenge against Oak Knoll (Summit, NJ)

Next up, the Red Raiders play the Kearny Kardinals (Kearny, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, February 14. East Side will attempt to upgrade on its 8-14 season record. The Kardinals come into the challenge with a 13-10 record after their 58-14 non-league win over Memorial (West New York, NJ).
