Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Sugar Creek Wildcats (Charlotte, NC), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they host Highland Tech for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 16. Piedmont Community Charter will battle a Rams squad coming off a 6-3 league win over Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC). The Rams record now stands at 4-2.

With the loss, Sugar Creek falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC) to battle the Stallions in a Metro Eight 1A challenge on Wednesday, March 15. The Stallions enter the challenge with a record of 5-1. Queen's Grant won 12-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Langtree Charter (Mooresville, NC)
