North Carolina High School Baseball - Purnell Swett nips Cape Fear

Purnell Swett Rams (Pembroke, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Cape Fear Colts (Fayetteville, NC), 5-4 in a league test.

With the win, Purnell Swett upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Rams travel to Jack Britt (Fayetteville, NC) to battle the Buccaneers in a United Eight 3A/4A test on Tuesday, March 12. The Buccaneers come into the test with a record of 1-3.

With the defeat, Cape Fear falls to 3-3 on the season. The Colts travel to Seventy-First (Fayetteville, NC) to battle the Falcons in a United Eight 3A/4A test on Tuesday, March 12. The Falcons come into the test with a record of 1-3. Seventy-First lost 15-2 in their recent league test against Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC)
