Spectators at Monday's league match between the Chesterton Trojans (Chesterton, IN) and the host Valparaiso Vikings (Valparaiso, IN), witnessed Chesterton's softball squad tip Valparaiso by a count of 7-4.

The Trojans now sport a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to Michigan City for a Duneland match on Wednesday, April 19. Chesterton will meet a Wolves squad coming off a 17-7 league loss to Portage (Portage, IN). The Wolves record now stands at 2-8.

With the loss, Valparaiso moves to 2-6 on the season. The Vikings travel to Lake Central (St. John, IN) to meet the Indians in a Duneland match on Tuesday, April 18. The Indians go into the match with a record of 10-2. Lake Central won 16-0 in their recent league match against Merrillville (Merrillville, IN)
