New Mexico High School Softball - Rio Rancho bounces Volcano Vista

The Rio Rancho Rams softball team scored 19 runs and held the host Volcano Vista Hawks to 11 in the Rams league win on Tuesday.

The Rams now sport a 15-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cibola for a 5A District 1 battle on Friday, April 25. Rio Rancho will confront a Cougars team coming off a 7-5 league win over Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM). The Cougars record now stands at 19-4.

With the loss, Volcano Vista moves to 8-14 on the season. The Hawks host Sandia (Albuquerque, NM) to confront the Matadors in a non-league battle on Wednesday, April 23. The Matadors come into the battle with a record of 12-8. Sandia won 9-3 in their recent league battle against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM)
