The Lumberton Pirates baseball team scored 12 runs and limited the host Seventy-First Falcons to 0 in the Pirates league victory on Tuesday.
The Pirates (12-8) will now prepare for their match against Purnell Swett (Pembroke, NC). The Rams go into the United Eight 3A/4A match with a 14-8 record. In their last match, Purnell Swett gained a win over Douglas Byrd (Fayetteville, NC), 15-4, in a league match.
The Falcons (2-15) will now prepare for their match against E.E. Smith (Fayetteville, NC). The Golden Bulls go into the non-league match with a 3-12 record. In their last match, E.E. Smith was overwhelmed by Western Harnett (Lillington, NC), 7-0, in a league match.
