The Ponaganset Chieftains softball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting North Providence Cougars to 0 in the Chieftains league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Ponaganset improves its record to 10-3 on the year. The Chieftains host Woonsocket (Woonsocket, RI) to clash with the Villa Novans in a Division 2 B game on Monday, May 9. The Villa Novans come into the game with a record of 0-9. Woonsocket lost 4-3 in their recent league game against East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI)

In their next game, the Cougars clash with the Toll Gate Titans (Warwick, RI) in a Division 2 B game, on Monday, May 9. North Providence will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record. The Titans come into the game with a 7-2 record after their 10-3 league win over Mount St. Charles Academy (Woonsocket, RI).
