North Carolina High School Volleyball - Watauga over Ashe County

August 27, 2025: West Jefferson, NC 28694

Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) and the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), observed Watauga's volleyball team top Ashe County by a count of 3-1.

The Pioneers (6-1) will now prepare for their battle against Forbush (East Bend, NC). The Falcons go into the non-league battle with a 4-3 record. In their last battle, Forbush dropped by East Forsyth (Kernersville, NC), 3-1, in a non-league battle.

The Huskies now own a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Elkin for a Mountain Valley 2A/3A/4A battle on Thursday, August 28. Ashe County will encounter a Buckin' Elks squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Buckin' Elks record now stands at 1-3.
