The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Mary Persons Bulldogs (Forsyth, GA) and the visiting Sandy Creek Patriots (Tyrone, GA), observed Mary Persons's softball team notch a victory over Sandy Creek by a tally of 19-6.

The Bulldogs (6-4) will now prepare for their bout against Whitewater (Fayetteville, GA). The Wildcats enter the 3A Region 2 contest with a 7-2 record. In their last contest, Whitewater topped Fayette County (Fayetteville, GA), 7-4, in a league contest.

The Patriots now hold a 3-7 record. They play next when they host Troup County for a 3A Region 2 contest on Tuesday, September 2. Sandy Creek will face a Tigers squad coming off a 9-3 league win over Spalding (Griffin, GA). The Tigers record now stands at 3-8.
