Southern Valley/Alma (Oxford, NE) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hershey Panthers (Hershey, NE), 18-15 in a non-league challenge.

The now own a 6-9 record. They take the field next when they host Ord for a C District challenge on Monday, September 18. Southern Valley/Alma will face a Chanticleers squad coming off a 11-4 non-league win over O'Neill (O'Neill, NE). The Chanticleers record now stands at 5-11.

With the loss, Hershey falls to 6-15 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Chase County (Imperial, NE) to face the Longhorns in a C District 10 challenge on Monday, September 18. The Longhorns enter the challenge with a record of 0-15. Chase County lost 16-0 in their recent league challenge against Chadron (Chadron, NE)
