Rutland Hurricanes (Macon, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Southwest Patriots (Macon, GA), 15-3 in a league challenge.

The Hurricanes now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they host Central for a 2A Region 2 challenge on Monday, September 18. Rutland will face a Chargers squad coming off a 24-0 league win over Spencer (Columbus, GA). The Chargers record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Southwest falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host Jordan (Columbus, GA) to face the Red Jackets in a 2A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, September 19. The Red Jackets enter the challenge with a record of 1-8.
