The Zuni Thunderbirds held off the visiting Wingate Bears volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Thursday's league test.

The Thunderbirds now have a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Crownpoint for a 3A District 1 test on Thursday, October 6. Zuni will confront a Eagles team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM). The Eagles record now stands at 4-9.

The Bears (1-10) will now prepare for their test against Newcomb (Newcomb, NM). The Skyhawks enter the 3A District 1 test with a 0-8 record. In their last test, Newcomb was nudged by Thoreau (Thoreau, NM), 3-0, in a league test.
