The Marshall Mavericks volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the host Nacogdoches Dragons to 0 in the Mavericks non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mavericks now have a 13-7 record. They play next when they host North Lamar for a non-league outing on Thursday, September 5. Marshall will play a Panthers team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Chisum (Paris, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 15-3.

With the loss, Nacogdoches drops to 2-17 on the campaign. The Dragons travel to Lufkin (Lufkin, TX) to play the Panthers in a 5A Region II District 15 outing on Friday, September 6. The Panthers come into the outing with a record of 24-6. Lufkin lost 3-2 in their recent league outing against Whitehouse (Whitehouse, TX)
