The Holden Eagles nipped the host Chillicothe Hornets softball squad by a final score of 8-7 in Saturday's non-league battle.
The Eagles (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Southern Boone (Ashland, MO). The Eagles come into the non-league contest with a 2-2 record. In their last contest, Southern Boone nipped Hickman (Columbia, MO), 13-3, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Hornets play the Kirksville Tigers (Kirksville, MO) in a Class 3 District 13 contest, on Saturday, September 9. Chillicothe will attempt to move on its 8-5 season record. The Tigers come into the contest with a 6-2 record after their 5-2 non-league win over Fulton (Fulton, MO).
