The
Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 was released last month highlighting the nation's top high school football teams. Now we are zoning in on the local level and identifying the best team in all 50 states along with Washington, D.C. Find out who earned the nod in your state below.
Included in the list is preseason national
No. 1 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.). The Braves extended their streak of finishing ranked among the nation's top 10 for the sixth consecutive year in 2021, the longest active streak in high school football.
St. John Bosco enters the 2022 season with 29 players rated as a three-star or higher on 247Sports for the Classes of 2023 and 2024.

Three-time defending 7A state champs begin the year at No. 14 in MaxPreps Top 25.
The Thunderbirds won their fourth state since 2016 last season.

Luke Flowers, who recently landed his first FBS offer from Arizona in June.
The back-to-back 5A state champs return a lot of talent led by three-star quarterback
Danny O'Neil. He threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 33 touchdowns in 2021.
The Hawks finished as 5A runner-up and will be one of the favorites in 2022 with four-star
J.J. Kohl under center. The 2023 Iowa State commit had an impressive showing at the Elite 11 Finals last week.

Dylan Edwards is among a number of key returners. The 2023 Kansas State commit rushed for over 2,600 yards and 38 touchdowns.
The Bulldogs are 49-5 since 2018 and the only team from Kentucky ranked in our expanded top 100.
Defending Class C state champs have to replace some key pieces but return one of the best players in Maine in
Nick Laughlin. He finished last season with nearly 1,400 total yards and 28 touchdowns while leading the team in tackles with 80.
The Panthers are 42-2 since 2017 and begin the season at No. 3 in the MaxPreps Top 25.
The Cougars have won 21 games in a row and have one of the best players in the state back for his senior year in 2023 Iowa State commit
Carson Hansen. He's rushed for 2,828 yards and 37 touchdowns during the winning streak.

The Eagles are defending Division 1 state champs are the lone Ohio team to begin the year in the MaxPreps Top 25.

Gavin Ross returns after accounting for 2,185 total yards and 24 touchdowns.
Trent Dilfer has done a tremendous job as head coach, leading the Mustangs to a 24-4 record over the last two seasons after going 7-6 in his first year. They won the school's first state title since 2007 last season.

Eric Kjar has led the Chargers to a 63-3 record and three state titles since becoming head coach before the 2017 season.
