California high school football: Braden Young of Tamalpais leads state passing yardage leaders

Red Tailed Hawks signal-caller leads group of 11 who've thrown for more than 2,000 yards so far this season.

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, Braden Young of Tamalpais (Mill Valley) leads California high school football in passing yardage. See the state's top 50 passers below.

Young, a Claremont McKenna College commit, has thrown for 2,420 yards this season for the 5-2 Red Tailed Hawks. The senior is completing 73 percent of his pass attempts, leading to 28 touchdowns against just three interceptions.

Others near the top of the leaderboard include Tulare Union (Tulare) sophomore Jordan Crisp, who has thrown for 2,406 yards and fellow 10th grader Brady Smigiel of Newbury Park, who has 2,333 yards.
