MaxPreps Top 25 high school football scores: No. 16 Liberty beats Centennial 24-14 to improve to 9-0

The biggest high school football game involving a MaxPreps Top 25 team this week went down in Arizona as No. 16
Liberty (Peoria) beat
Centennial (Peoria) 24-14 to improve to 9-0. It was the third win for the Lions against a team ranked in the
top 100 and all but secured the No. 1 seed in the Open Division playoffs.
St. Frances Academy was up 12-11 at halftime against
St. Thomas More (Oakdale, Conn.) but cruised in the second half and won 41-18. The Panthers have gone 49-2 since 2017 and have beat the Ascenders in both previous meetings. The beat IMG 34-24 last season and 35-7 in 2019.

Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) beat Desert Pines (Las Vegas) 41-3 to advance to the 5A state semifinals. It was the first points they have allowed against an in-state opponent. The Gaels have outscored their first seven in-state opponents 448-3. The defending 5A state champs have won 11 of the last 12 state championships, the only time they didn't win was in 2019 when
Liberty (Henderson, Nev.) beat them in overtime 30-24. They play the Patriots in the 5A semifinals on Nov. 11.
