Monarchs are No. 1 in football and also ranked in volleyball and girls flag football.

Ranked in the national top 25 in three sports, including No. 1 in the MaxPreps Top 25 high school football rankings, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) holds down the top spot in the first MaxPreps Cup standings for the 2025-26 school year.

The Monarchs have 402 points, according to the MaxPreps Cup algorithm, with the volleyball team ranked No. 5 and girls flag football ranked No. 19 to go along with the top-ranked football team.

The MaxPreps Cup is a competition to determine the top high school sports programs in the country, based on state championships, state runner-up finishes and national rankings. Since no state championships have been contested yet this school year, the September MaxPreps Cup standings are based solely on national rankings.
