The Brighton Bulldogs will challenge the Mountain Range Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Brighton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Rangeview get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Saturday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Laikyn Lanzen made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run and one double. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Riley Doherty was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Mya Arriaga was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Brighton lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in September of 2024.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Mountain Range and Poudre have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Saturday. The Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Impalas, sneaking past 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since September 4th.
The team relied heavily on Abby Judd, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was MacKenzie King, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Mountain Range's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Brighton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
