Shawn Irwin of
Hart (Newhall) leads California high school football in receiving yardage. See the complete list of the top 50 receivers in the state below.
Irwin, a senior with an offer from UNLV, has 1,265 receiving yards on the season with 72 receptions, nine of which have gone for touchdowns. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder has gone over 100 receiving yards in all but one game and has crossed the 150-yard plateau in six of nine contests including a 242-yard game in the second game of the season.
Junior
Shane Rosenthal of
Newbury Park is second in the state with 1,188. The three-star receiver plays with
Brady Smigiel, the No. 3 rated quarterback in the Class of 2026. Rosenthal has five games where he has topped 100 receiving yards. In a 35-28 loss to Moorpark on Sept. 29, Rosenthal had a career high 290 receiving yards and got into the end zone three times.
Trent Mosley of
Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita) has 1,094 receiving yards, the most among sophomores in the state. Loaded with offers that include Notre Dame, Oregon and Washington, Mosley has tallied a combined 451 receiving yards in his last two games against JSerra Catholic and Servite, scoring four touchdowns in those contests.
