Prominent Class of 2023 high school basketball prospects
Bronny James,
D.J. Wagner and
Juju Watkins each inked NIL deals with Nike according according to a company announcement released via social media Monday morning.
Bronny, a 6-foot-3 guard for
Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.), is ranked the No. 41 overall prospect in the Class of 2023 according to 247Sports. His father, LeBron, has been under contract with Nike since 2004.
Wagner is regarded as the No. 2 overall prospect in the Class of 2023 and earned first team MaxPreps Junior All-America honors last season after averaging 19.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.3 assists at
Camden (N.J.).
Watkins was named MaxPreps National Player of the Year as a junior after averaging 25.0 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.9 blocks with
Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.). She is regarded as the No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2023.
Along with Bronny, D.J. and JuJu, Caitlyn Clark of the Iowa women's basketball team and Haley Jones of the Stanford women's basketball team were among those announced in Nike NIL deals.
Juju Watkins led Sierra Canyon to a 30-2 record in 2021-22 and a state title.
