(13) Mainland (Daytona Beach, Fla.) at (25) St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio)
Saturday, 2 p.m. Eastern timeWhy it's big: Newly minted Xcellent 25 squad St. Edward (5-1) looks to extend its stay in the national rankings with a second-straight home victory against a Florida opponent.
Indiana-committed senior running back
Cole Gest ran for over 200 yards with two touchdowns as the No. 25 Eagles defeated Cocoa (Fla.) last Saturday, 24-14. The task could be tougher this weekend when No. 13 Mainland visits Lakewood Stadium. Led by three-star linemen
Jachai Polite and
Kevin McCrary, the Buccaneers have one of the top defensive fronts in the Sunshine State.
Names to watch: Senior
Tony Butler, a rangy three-star cornerback, is St. Edward's most-heralded defensive player. He reportedly decommited from Pittsburgh this summer and is now choosing between scholarship offers from Arizona State, Michigan, Clemson and Rutgers.
Junior
Cyrus Fagan, rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports as a safety, threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more to lead Mainland (6-0) to a 42-14 rout of Deltona last week. Fagan was filling in for all-state quarterback
Denzel Houston, who is out with a fractured hand.
