After previously holding the No. 1 ranking for a week in January, Ontario Christian is back on top and could earn a rematch with No. 2
Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.) in the California Open Division final Saturday should the two advance from regional play Tuesday.
Ontario Christian downed Mitty 96-87 in double overtime in an epic edition of the MaxPreps Game of the Week in January.
Next up for the top-ranked Knights is No. 12
Sage Hill (Newport Beach) on Tuesday after the Lightning upset No. 5 Sierra Canyon 57-54 on Saturday. In Northern California, Mitty looks for a fifth Open Division berth in a row with a fourth-straight NorCal final matchup against No. 25
Clovis West (Fresno).
In New Jersey, No. 6
Red Bank Catholic (Red Bank) jumped three spots in this week's rankings after beating No. 14
St. John-Vianney (Holmdel) 54-39 on Monday in the South Jersey Non-Public A final. The Caseys stormed back from a slow start with a 20-0 run in the second period to take the game and win the season series between rivals 3-1.
