Harris, a Long Beach State commit, scored 23 points and hit seven triples in an 85-19 victory, giving her 643 for her career and surpassing
Aaliyah Chavez of
Monterey (Lubbock, Texas) as the leader. Chavez broke the four-year record just last season.
Needing four 3-pointers to break the record, Harris hit two in the first quarter and the record-breaker at the two-minute mark of the second to give her 640.
"It's surreal a little bit," Harris told MaxPreps. "I don't believe it just happened, but it's always great. I got to do it in front of basically my whole elementary school I went to and my whole high school and it's great."

During Harris' previous four games entering the week, Harris averaged 40 points per game and hit 37 threes. She went for 50 on 10 of 21 from downtown Jan. 24 at
John Adams Academy (El Dorado Hills) to bring herself within nine threes heading into Tuesday's contest with
Sacramento Adventist (Carmichael).
Harris broke the California record for career and single-season threes last year. The 191 she hit as a junior could also be within reach if Faith Christian makes another deep postseason run to defend its section and NorCal championships.
Chavez holds the national single-season record of 194 while Harris is at 143 this winter.
While Harris is now the career leader for a four-year high school career,
a strong debate remains on whether she should be the rightful career record-holder.
Jaden Newman hit 852 3-pointers over a 10-year varsity career that began when she was in third grade at
Downey Christian (Orlando, Fla.). Newman's high school 3-point total is 422 from her time at
Prodigy Prep (Orlando, Fla.) and
Liberty (Henderson, Nev.) between 2020–23.
"It was great that I got to do it in this gym because I feel like this gym is what built me into the person I am basketball-wise and just off the court," Harris said. "So I'm very grateful I get to have another memory."
Harris began her senior season with 13 consecutive games of at least five made 3-pointers, a streak that extended to 24 games dating back to the end of last season. She hasn't hit fewer than four in any game this season and is shooting a career-best 40 percent from beyond the arc.
Entering Friday's game, Harris' 31.1 scoring average was fifth in California and 25th nationally. She was leading the country in points-per-32 at 40.2 and 3-pointers made per game at 7.2. The country's 3-point leader is
Yasmeen Schmidt of
Cornerstone Christian (San Antonio, Texas), who had 145 triples in 13 more games than Harris.
Harris and the Lions (19-1) have five more games remaining on their regular season schedule before they look to defend their Sac-Joaquin Section and CIF NorCal championships.
