The high school football season in Texas kicks off next week and MaxPreps has your look at the state's top teams. Defending Class 6A Division 2 state champion
DeSoto owns the No. 1 spot in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25.
DeSoto has won 22 in a row going back to 2022 and won by an average margin of 35 points per game last fall en route to the state title. That included a 74-14 blowout of
Summer Creek (Houston) in the championship game.

Keylan Abrams (6-0, 200, EDGE, committed to TCU),
Deondrae Riden (5-10, 195, RB, Texas A&M),
Daylon Singelton (5-10, 170, WR, SMU) and
Byron Washington (6-7, 380, OL, Syracuse) along with sophomore
Ethan Feaster (6-2, 185, WR) lead the charge for DeSoto.
North Shore (Houston) is home to arguably the best player in the state in
Devin Sanchez, who is committed to Ohio State. Sanchez is rated as the top cornerback in the nation according to
247Sports.
