Jake Browning and Tucker Israel both continue their climb up the all-time national yardage lists while Jacques Patrick now ranks among the top five rushers in Florida history. Their efforts highlight this week's MaxPreps National Player of the Year Watch.

Jake Browning, Folsom (Calif.)Browning completed 19 of 25 passes for 276 yards and six touchdowns, mostly in the first half, in a 71-7 win over Woodcreek (Roseville). Browning has 3,507 yards passing with 56 touchdowns on the season. Browning's 14,492 career passing yards rank fifth all-time nationally while his 194 career touchdowns are one behind No. 2 Will Grier of Davidson Day (Davidson, N.C.).
Tucker Israel, Lake Nona (Orlando, Fla.)Israel
broke Tim Tebow's state record for touchdowns in a season and he concluded the regular season with 51 scoring tosses. Israel has 3,919 yards passing. The next state record on Israel's radar is the single-season yardage mark of 4,451 yards, set by Quentin Williams of Jefferson (Tampa) in 2010. Israel's 13,569 career passing yards rank 11th in national history.
Jacques Patrick, Timber Creek (Orlando, Fla.)Patrick had 150 yards rushing on just 12 carries with three touchdowns in a 42-12 win over Freedom last week. He has gained 2,290 yards rushing with 32 touchdowns on the year. Patrick ranks fifth all-time in Florida state history with 7,692 yards rushing in his career.
Sotonye Jamabo, Plano West (Texas)Jamabo carried just three times for negative two yards before exiting a blowout win over Flower Mound. Jamabo begins the postseason with 1,952 yards rushing and 41 total touchdowns.
Kyler Murray, Allen (Texas)Murray provided over 450 yards of offense in a 35-13 win over Plano East. He completed 24 of 37 passes for 326 yards and three touchdowns and he rushed 11 times for 131 yards and a touchdown. For the season, Murray has completed 174 of 265 passes for 2,971 yards and 32 touchdowns. He has also rushed 76 times for 874 yards and 18 scores.
Markell Jones, Columbus East (Ind.)Jones could break the single season rushing record this week as he needs 294 yards to tie the Indiana record of 3,366 set by Corey Jacquay of New Haven in 2001. Jones has already topped the 294-yard mark four times this year. Last week he rushed for 193 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-9 playoff win over East Central. For the season, Jones has 53 touchdowns.
Kellen Overstreet, Penney (Hamilton, Mo.)With an average of 307 yards per game and the possibility of three more playoff games, Overstreet could come close to breaking the national record for single season yardage, which is 4,756 by John Giannantonio of Netcong (N.J.) in 1950. Overstreet has 3,685 after rushing for 345 yards in a 68-47 win over Polo (Mo.). Overstreet has four straight games over 300 yards and seven on the year. He also has 61 touchdowns, putting him just 10 scores away from tying the national record of 71, set by T.A. McClendon of Albemarle (N.C.) in 2001.
Brett Rypien, Shadle Park (Spokane, Wash.)Rypien is closing in on his second straight 4,000-yard season as he completed 28 of 43 passes for 444 yards and three touchdowns in a 27-7 win over Kamiakin (Kennewick, Wash.). For the year, Rypien has 3,753 yards passing with 43 touchdowns. In his career, Rypien has thrown for 11,800 yards and 129 touchdowns.
Blake Barnett, Santiago (Corona, Calif.)Pegged as one of the nation's top dual-threat quarterbacks, Barnett led Santiago to a playoff berth this week with a 38-24 win over Roosevelt. He threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns in the win and also rushed for a score. For the season, Barnett has completed 214 of 360 passes for 3,186 yards and 23 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 445 yards on 83 carries with seven touchdowns.
Ty Storey, Charleston (Ark.)Storey cracked 3,000 yards passing for the third straight season and led Charleston to its 25th straight win with a 49-23 win over Mansfield last week. Storey threw for 237 yards and has completed 220 of 323 passes for 3,037 yards and 38 touchdowns. Storey has thrown for 11,738 yards and 139 touchdowns in a his career.
