Georgia High School Basketball - McIntosh County Academy overwhelms Portal

January 3, 2025: Darien, GA 31305

The McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers basketball team scored 69 points and limited the visiting Portal Panthers to 27 in the Buccaneers league triumph on Friday.

The Buccaneers now have a 9-3 record. They play next when they travel to Metter for a A D2 Region 3 game on Saturday, January 4. McIntosh County Academy will confront a Tigers team coming off a 64-52 non-league win over Montgomery County (Mt. Vernon, GA). The Tigers record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Portal falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Panthers host Emanuel County Institute (Twin City, GA) to confront the Bulldogs in a A D2 Region 3 game on Saturday, January 4. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 0-6. Emanuel County Institute lost 64-39 in their recent non-league game against Thomson (Thomson, GA)
