McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Screven County Gamecocks (Sylvania, GA), 72-50 in a league match.

With the victory, McIntosh County Academy upgrades its record to 12-3 on the year. The Buccaneers host Pierce County (Blackshear, GA) to face the Bears in a non-league match on Saturday, January 11. The Bears enter the match with a record of 3-9. Pierce County lost 72-68 in their recent league match against Cook (Adel, GA)

The Gamecocks now sport a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Portal for a A D2 Region 3 match on Tuesday, January 14. Screven County will face a Panthers squad coming off a 61-51 league loss to Savannah (Savannah, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 7-9.
