The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans routed the visiting East Rowan Mustangs basketball team by a final score of 72-34 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Trojans face the Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC) in a 3A South Piedmont game, on Wednesday, January 10. Northwest Cabarrus will attempt to move on its 8-5 season record. The Cougars enter the game with a 6-5 record after their 79-64 non-league win over North Rowan (Spencer, NC).

With the defeat, East Rowan moves to 2-10 on the year. The Mustangs host A.L. Brown (Kannapolis, NC) to face the Wonders in a non-league game on Wednesday, January 10. The Wonders enter the game with a record of 6-6.
