North Carolina High School Basketball - Pinecrest triumphant over Scotland

January 9, 2025: Southern Pines, NC 28387

The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) and the visiting Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC), observed Pinecrest's basketball team overwhelm Scotland by a score of 59-36.

The Patriots (10-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Hoke County (Raeford, NC). The Bucks come into the 3A/4A Sandhills challenge with a 6-9 record. In their last challenge, Hoke County was routed by Union Pines (Cameron, NC), 67-61, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Fighting Scots encounter the Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. Scotland will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 57-41 league loss to Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC).
