The West Union Eagles basketball team scored 64 points and held the host East Union Urchins to 53 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Eagles now sport a 18-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Lowndes for a 1A Region 4 contest on Tuesday, January 16. West Union will battle a Panthers team coming off a 55-33 non-league loss to Noxubee County (Macon, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 11-9.

The Urchins (11-8) will now prepare for their contest against Walnut (Walnut, MS). The Wildcats enter the 2A Region 1 contest with a 10-9 record. In their last contest, Walnut ran past Pine Grove (Ripley, MS), 50-47, in a non-league contest.
