Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Girard overwhelms Northwestern
January 16, 2024: Girard, PA 16417 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Girard Yellowjackets (Girard, PA) and the visiting Northwestern Wildcats (Albion, PA), saw Girard's basketball team triumph over Northwestern by a score of 78-21.
The Yellowjackets now sport a 12-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Seneca for a District 10 Region 3 contest on Friday, January 19. Girard will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 65-48 league win over Erie First Christian Academy (Erie, PA). The Bobcats record now stands at 4-9.
The Wildcats (0-11) will now prepare for their contest against Iroquois (Erie, PA). The Braves come into the non-league contest with a 8-5 record. In their last contest, Iroquois triumphed over Mercyhurst Prep (Erie, PA), 53-52, in a non-league contest.
