North Carolina High School Basketball - Providence Day can't hold off Covenant Day

The Covenant Day Lions basketball team scored 36 points and restricted the host Providence Day Chargers to 33 in the Lions league victory on Tuesday.

The Lions now sport a 11-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Charlotte Country Day School for a NCISAA Charlotte Independent contest on Friday, January 20. Covenant Day will battle a Buccaneers team coming off a 67-62 league win over Charlotte Latin (Charlotte, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 16-8.

The Chargers (13-9) will now prepare for their contest against Cannon (Concord, NC). The Cougars come into the NCISAA Charlotte Independent contest with a 22-5 record. In their last contest, Cannon edged Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, NC), 79-75, in a league contest.
