The SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) basketball crushed the host Tarboro Vikings (Tarboro, NC), 77-50 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 11-3 record. They play next when they travel to Farmville Central for a 2A Eastern Plains bout on Friday, January 24. SouthWest Edgecombe will play a Jaguars team coming off a 96-64 non-league win over Fike (Wilson, NC). The Jaguars record now stands at 13-4.

With the loss, Tarboro falls to 8-2 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Rocky Mount Prep (Rocky Mount, NC) to play the Jaguars in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 22. The Jaguars go into the bout with a record of 2-8.
