North Carolina High School Basketball - Central Academy overwhelmed by Monroe
January 19, 2024: Monroe, NC 28112 The Monroe Redhawks basketball team scored 66 points and restricted the visiting Central Academy Cougars to 25 in the Redhawks league victory on Friday.
The Redhawks now sport a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Forest Hills for a 2A/3A Rocky River contest on Tuesday, January 23. Monroe will battle a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 89-82 league win over Anson (Wadesboro, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 9-7.
The Cougars (3-14) will now prepare for their contest against Parkwood (Monroe, NC). The Wolf Pack come into the 2A/3A Rocky River contest with a 10-6 record. In their last contest, Parkwood triumphed over Piedmont (Monroe, NC), 72-65, in a league contest.
