The West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC) basketball nipped the host Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), 71-66 in Friday's league test.

The Lions (10-8) will now prepare for their test against West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Hawks go into the 3A/4A Conference 60 test with a 2-15 record. In their last test, West Mecklenburg was tipped by Chambers (Charlotte, NC), 88-33, in a league test.
