January 21, 2023: Chillicothe, IL 61523 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL) and the visiting Rantoul Eagles (Rantoul, IL), saw Illinois Valley Central's basketball squad wallop Rantoul by a tally of 59-24.
With the victory, Illinois Valley Central improves its record to 9-13 on the campaign. The Grey Ghosts host Prairie Central (Fairbury, IL) to confront the Hawks in a Illini Prairie challenge on Monday, January 23. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 15-6. Prairie Central lost 69-42 in their recent non-league challenge against Peotone (Peotone, IL)
Next up, the Eagles confront the Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL) in a Illini Prairie challenge, on Monday, January 23. Rantoul will attempt to improve on its 2-11 season record. The Sages come into the challenge with a 7-16 record after their 52-23 league loss to St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph, IL).
