St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL), 49-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. Thomas More upgrades its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Sabers travel to Tolono Unity (Tolono, IL) to play the Rockets in a Illini Prairie bout on Monday, January 9. The Rockets come into the bout with a record of 15-5. Tolono Unity lost 41-22 in their recent non-league bout against Tuscola (Tuscola, IL)

Next up, the Grey Ghosts play the Bloomington Central Catholic Saints (Bloomington, IL) in a Illini Prairie bout, on Monday, January 9. Illinois Valley Central will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Saints come into the bout with a 12-6 record after their 62-57 non-league win over Aurora Central Catholic (Aurora, IL).
