Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Deer Lakes holds off Derry
January 23, 2024: Russellton, PA 15076 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Deer Lakes Lancers (Russellton, PA) and the visiting Derry Trojans (Derry, PA), saw Deer Lakes's basketball squad hold off Derry by a tally of 55-53.
With the victory, Deer Lakes improves its record to 13-2 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Blackhawk (Beaver Falls, PA) to confront the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 26. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 4-12. Blackhawk lost 56-41 in their recent league challenge against Central Valley (Monaca, PA)
Next up, the Trojans confront the Burrell Bucs (Lower Burrell, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 3 challenge, on Friday, January 26. Derry will attempt to improve on its 8-5 season record. The Bucs come into the challenge with a 10-4 record after their 68-50 league win over Ligonier Valley (Ligonier, PA).
