Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Deer Lakes thwarts Valley
February 6, 2024: New Kensington, PA 15068 The Deer Lakes Lancers (Russellton, PA) basketball knocked off the host Valley Vikings (New Kensington, PA), 81-62 in Tuesday's league test.
The Lancers (17-3) will now prepare for their test against Shady Side Academy (Pittsburgh, PA). The Bulldogs go into the WPIAL 3A 3 test with a 13-6 record. In their last test, Shady Side Academy notched a victory over Derry (Derry, PA), 73-56, in a league test.
The Vikings now own a 5-13 record. They play next when they travel to Burrell for a WPIAL 3A 3 test on Friday, February 9. Valley will encounter a Bucs squad coming off a 65-31 league win over Apollo Ridge (Spring Church, PA). The Bucs record now stands at 11-7.
