Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Ligonier Valley can't hold off Valley
January 5, 2024: Ligonier, PA 15658 The Valley Vikings basketball team scored 53 points and held the host Ligonier Valley Rams to 49 in the Vikings league triumph on Friday.
The Vikings now sport a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Derry for a WPIAL 3A 3 contest on Tuesday, January 9. Valley will battle a Trojans team coming off a 63-25 league win over Apollo Ridge (Spring Church, PA). The Trojans record now stands at 6-3.
The Rams (2-9) will now prepare for their contest against Shady Side Academy (Pittsburgh, PA). The Bulldogs enter the WPIAL 3A 3 contest with a 5-5 record. In their last contest, Shady Side Academy nudged Valley (New Kensington, PA), 68-38, in a league contest.
