Colorado High School Basketball - Salida overwhelmed by St. Mary's
January 23, 2024: Colorado Springs, CO 80909 The St. Mary's Pirates basketball team scored 65 points and restricted the visiting Salida Spartans to 33 in the Pirates league victory on Tuesday.
The Pirates now sport a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lamar for a 4A/3A Tri-Peaks contest on Thursday, January 25. St. Mary's will battle a Thunder team coming off a 44-24 non-league loss to Ulysses (Ulysses, KS). The Thunder record now stands at 6-8.
The Spartans (6-7) will now prepare for their contest against Woodland Park (Woodland Park, CO). The Panthers come into the 4A/3A Tri-Peaks contest with a 7-6 record. In their last contest, Woodland Park triumphed over James Irwin (Colorado Springs, CO), 46-19, in a league contest.
