The East Mecklenburg Eagles routed the host Garinger Wildcats basketball team by a final score of 71-41 in Tuesday's league game.

In their next game, the Eagles face the Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) in a 4A Southwestern game, on Friday, February 2. East Mecklenburg will attempt to move on its 11-9 season record. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 12-7 record after their 59-42 league win over Providence (Charlotte, NC).

With the defeat, Garinger moves to 1-17 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Independence (Charlotte, NC) to face the Patriots in a 4A Southwestern game on Friday, February 2.
