In Friday's league match, the host Shepherd Pirates basketball team scored a tight 54-50 triumph over the New Waverly Bulldogs.

In their next game, the Pirates meet the Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls (Anderson, TX) in a 3A Region III District 23 match, on Tuesday, February 6.
