The Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC), 60-55 in Friday's league test.

The Vikings (10-9) will now prepare for their test against Richmond (Rockingham, NC). The Raiders go into the 3A/4A Sandhills test with a 16-5 record. In their last test, Richmond got by Hoke County (Raeford, NC), 79-29, in a league test.

The Fighting Scots now own a 8-13 record. They play next when they travel to Pinecrest for a 3A/4A Sandhills test on Friday, February 9.
