The Rochester Rams (Rochester, PA) basketball nipped the host Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA), 53-47 in Tuesday's league test.

The Rams (14-5) will now prepare for their test against Western Beaver (Industry, PA). The Golden Beavers go into the WPIAL 1A 1 test with a 5-16 record. In their last test, Western Beaver got by Cornell (Coraopolis, PA), 50-35, in a league test.

The Scotties now own a 11-10 record. They play next when they travel to Avella for a WPIAL 1A 1 test on Friday, February 9. Union Area will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 55-35 league loss to Carlynton (Carnegie, PA). The Eagles record now stands at 9-11.
