The Union Area Scotties routed the host Carlynton Cougars basketball team by a final score of 78-54 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Scotties face the Cornell Raiders (Coraopolis, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 1 game, on Tuesday, January 30. Union Area will attempt to move on its 9-9 season record. The Raiders enter the game with a 2-11 record after their 56-47 league loss to Rochester (Rochester, PA).
