North Carolina High School Basketball - Scotland succumbs to Pinecrest

February 9, 2024: Southern Pines, NC 28387

The Pinecrest Patriots topped the visiting Scotland Fighting Scots basketball team by a final score of 72-60 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Patriots face the Hoke County Bucks (Raeford, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills game, on Tuesday, February 13. Pinecrest will attempt to move on its 11-8 season record. The Bucks enter the game with a 14-8 record after their 54-49 league win over Union Pines (Cameron, NC).

With the defeat, Scotland moves to 8-14 on the year. The Fighting scots host Lee County (Sanford, NC) to confront the Yellow Jackets in a 3A/4A Sandhills battle on Tuesday, February 13. The Yellow Jackets come into the battle with a record of 6-15. Lee County lost 92-40 in their recent league battle against Richmond (Rockingham, NC)
