February 21, 2024: Wakpala, SD 57658 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the McLaughlin Mustangs (McLaughlin, SD) and the host Wakpala Sioux (Wakpala, SD), saw McLaughlin's basketball squad overcome Wakpala by a tally of 60-52.
With the victory, McLaughlin improves its record to 13-6 on the campaign. The Mustangs host St. Francis Indian (St. Francis, SD) to confront the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 23. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 8-11. St. Francis Indian lost 94-66 in their recent league challenge against Lakota Tech (Pine Ridge, SD)
Next up, the Sioux confront the Crazy Horse Chiefs (Wanblee, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 23. Wakpala will attempt to improve on its 11-9 season record. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a 10-8 record after their 104-41 non-league win over Bennett County (Martin, SD).
